SSI Forum assigns the copyright of the SSI Forum Specifications to the Storage Networking Industry Association

Today, the SSI Forum, originally Server System InfrastructureSM Forum, has assigned the copyright of the SSI Forum specifications to the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA). The SSI Forum leadership came to the realization that in the past 20 years, SSI Forum has served its purpose of addressing ecosystem challenges in traditional server system architecture and the need to meet evolving requirements of modern data center and Cloud infrastructure.

Working with SNIA presents SSI Forum members with a great opportunity to build on the existing work and foster innovation, form new initiatives for the future data center servers. As part of the agreement, SSI Forum members (current and past) are being offered a non-voting membership to SNIA, the Solid State Storage Initiative  (SSSI) and the SFF Technology Affiliate (SFF) with no membership fees through November 30, 2019. Additionally, SNIA will post as reference the final SSI Forum specifications so they continue to be available for former members on a publicly accessible website for the next 5 years.
